Air Pollution Linked to Heart Disease
HAZE is bad for your heart, with evidence linking it to heart attacks and cardiovascular death having ‘strengthened substantially’, warned the American Heart Association (AHA) in a scientific statement on its website.
Let us look at the probable causes that could have contributed to the heart disease.
Air pollution coming from haze, carbon monoxide, and second-hand tobacco smoke do affects the respiratory system, mainly our lungs. Using the Five Elements theory described in my book “Elements of Numbers: Fast and Easy Character Profiling”, the METAL element is associated to the respiratory system.
When the METAL element is imbalance, it may influence the level of elemental energies in the Water, Earth and the Fire elements. When Water element is affected, it will affect the Fire element as well. According to an article in Wikipedia, the kidney is a Yin organ which includes the Lungs, Liver, Spleen and the Heart. The kidney is responsible for growth and development, and manufacture blood. Hence, when the kidney is affected, it will consequently affect the heart. This will cause stroke, heart and other cardiovascular problems.
In another article in Wikipedia, the Spleen (Earth element) is associated to the emotions of anxiety and stress. The spleen extracts essences from food and which later becomes Qi and blood. When a person becomes overly stressed, the blood pressure will rise. Likewise, when the blood is affected, it will cause stroke and heart-related diseases.
If you have access to my book, check out the section “The Five Elements and Internal Organs”, and the two table charts on subsequent pages highlighting what is needed to enhance or reduce when an element/organ is weak or strong.
Sadly, any kind of air pollution is bad for our lungs and heart.
Take care while you can for a better holistic health.
