Snooker legend Alex ‘Hurricane’ Higgins dies

Former world snooker champion Alex Higgins has died after a long battle against throat cancer. He was reportedly found dead in his flat in Belfast on 24 July 2010, reported in a recent BBC article.

The legendary Northern Ireland player, a heavy smoker, had been suffering from throat cancer for more than a decade and blamed his illness largely on the cigarette makers who sponsored his sport.

Let us look at his Birth chart and Personal Year 2010 (PY2010) chart, using the Elements of Numbers (EON) method.

Higgins has strong Fire element in his birth chart. He could have smoke heavily to relief the dryness in his mouth and body.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), a person would be tempted to smoke more because of presence of the strong Fire energies in their body.

In a separate Wikipedia article, Higgins was reported to have lost his teeth after intensive radiotherapy used to treat his throat cancer. He had been living on liquid food ever since he lost his teeth, and had become increasingly depressed. He even contemplated suicide.

If you look at his birth chart and PY2010 chart, the presence of Wood is strong.

In my earlier article “The Planner, The Schemer, and the Suicider”, I mentioned the temptation to “end-all” of the sufferings by committing suicide is high when the Wood is strong.

From his PY2010 chart, there is a sign the Metal element is affected. This implied his death could be directly or indirectly caused by a lung or respiratory failure, affecting the heart.
