Drinking too much water is bad!
In some of my earlier articles, I mentioned the need to drink enough water. I also cautioned against drinking too much water as it may affect the kidney.
In a December 2008 article, a woman was reported to have suffered fatal brain-swelling after drinking too much water. Yet in another Jan 2007 article, a Californian woman has died after taking part in a water-drinking contest.
If you drink too much water, the kidney has to ‘work extra hard’ to regulate the levels of certain compounds, such as salt, in the blood. The Kidney is the foundation of “yin” (negative) and “yang” (positive) energy for the five main organs, supporting and affecting the functions of brain, teeth, hair, ear, and bone.
In the Five Elements theory, when Water is too strong, it may create a repulsive effect against Fire that is associated to the blood vessels, brain and heart.
Andrews was performing as Henry Higgins in a revival of the musical My Fair Lady at the time, and consumed up to eight litres of water a day. He was unconscious and in intensive care for three days.
Looking at his birth chart, the Fire is strong while the Water is too weak. This could imply Andrews often feels a “burning sensation” in his body, and dryness in his throat or mouth. The need to quench his thirst regularly is necessary.
His PY2003 chart shows minimal Water too. In fact, the Wood (and Fire) is too strong. In the Five Elements concept, Wood will exhaust and weaken the Water. Hence Andrews could have felt dehydrated easily that year.
As Wood is also associated to the emotional aspect, Andrews could have overreacted and turned emotional. The only way for him is to drink excessively to try to “stop” the thirst. This could have resulted in the water intoxication.
Too much Water will also affect the Wood (liver). Andrews has to take care of his health now, especially his kidney and liver too as next year (2011) would be his “Double Effect” year.
If you have a similar birth chart, do take care of your health too. Try to abstain from binge drinking and smoking. Do avoid taking too much sugary food as well to prevent the possibility of getting diabetes. Control your temper and emotions, and be tolerant and empathy towards others.
Everything has to be done in moderation. Drink enough water, but not too much!
